HK Courses Mulhouse development strategy: the Wittelsheim branch is becoming more structured in the field of urgent transport.

HK Courses in Wittelsheim has been in the urgent transport business for 25 years. The team works with companies in the IT, industrial, electronics, automotive and construction sectors. In order to meet its development ambitions, the agency is becoming more structured with the purchase of two new vehicles and the hiring of experienced drivers.

In-depth knowledge of urgent transport

Internalisation of drivers and light vehicles

TheWittelsheim branch has historically relied on subcontracting, with 100% of its fleet and routes managed by external service providers. To consolidate its expertise in urgent transport, last April it recruited its first driver and equipped him with a light vehicle. "This first successful experience enabled us to assign him to regional routes. This strategic decision has reduced our dependence on subcontractors and increased our responsiveness to urgent requests." Nordine SABER, HK Courses Wittelsheim Branch Manager. In September, a second driver was recruited. He carries out rounds from the Grand Est to the Nord to ensure national distributions.

This expansion enables HK Courses to respond not only to urgent requests in the Grand Est region, but also in Northern France and Germany. By extending its radius of action to cities such as Dortmund, Frankfurt and Stuttgart, the company is strengthening its geographical foothold.

Better flow control

By bringing drivers and vehicles in-house, the company also secures its logistics flows, since it has complete control over loads. This is a significant advantage, in addition to the in-house management of means of transport. The agency controls the entire transport chain, thanks to precise knowledge of drivers' activities before and after each assignment, as well as vehicle geolocation, which, among other things, enables us to optimize our resources and track the location of goods in real time.

This approach makes it possible to efficiently combine dedicated distribution and urgent transport services, thus optimizing operations. Drivers are also equipped to deal with a variety of situations: for example, they can load a 300 kg pallet and have the necessary equipment in their vehicle (hand truck, straps, etc.) to guarantee the safety of the driver and the goods being transported.

Optimized resource management for better service quality

Controlled itinerary management contributes to better organization of resources. Whereas in the past, customers departing from Mulhouse to the Grand Est region used external service providers, today the Wittelsheim branch uses its own resources.

This autonomy is much appreciated by customers, who regularly mention their satisfaction at seeing clean vehicles and drivers clearly identified as HK Courses. Increased control over personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety shoes and yellow vests, as well aseasy identification of drivers, considerably enhance service quality.

Future development strategy for the Wittelsheim branch

The agency's development strategy aims to further strengthen its intervention zone, while increasing the responsiveness of its teams to urgent transport requests. This will be achieved through stronger coverage of the territory, the development of new customers and the optimization of flows through the pooling of HK Courses resources.

Investment in internal resources is considered essential to meet the agency's growing demand. For this reason, HK Courses is planning to recruit a third driver with a T3 (12 m³) vehicle, with the aim of boosting regular flows.

What about CSR standards? The haulage business is gradually becoming more structured and consolidated, particularly since the internalization of resources. The emphasis is on compliance with CSR standards, with particular attention paid to driving time, breaks after six hours' work, the obligatory 10-hour break and respect for night-time working hours.

Finally, greater synergy is being developed between the various HK Courses branches across France. The pooling of resources, in particular with the Phalsbourg and Paris branches, is making operations more efficient. This inter-branch cooperation contributes to the development of a common strategy aimed at meeting customers' needs in the best possible way.
