Pharmacist, laboratoires Boiron
In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we are immediately informed...
- Do pharmaceutical products require special transport?
First of all, it's important that the carrier is familiar with our company. Laboratoires Boiron is subject to Good Distribution Practice (GDP) regulations, which all drivers must be familiar with. This requires a thorough knowledge of the specific nature of our goods. As a pharmaceutical company, we have to ensure compliance with a framework of good procedures, and are obliged to carry out audits, as we did recently at HK: are the drivers familiar with the type of products being transported? Are they aware of all distribution constraints and practices?
- How did the audit at HK go?
Great! I met each driver for a mini-training session: hygiene, delivery circuit, vehicle condition, risks of cross-contamination (when transporting other products in the same vehicle), etc. There are no such risks at HK: it's a dedicated transport operation. At HK, there's no such risk: it's dedicated transport. HK's reporting is part of our BPD: in the event of an unforeseen event (accident, blockage, traffic jam, etc.), we are notified immediately. It's essential for us to have total visibility of the route and position of our products. What's more, the carrier represents our laboratory when he works for us: the quality of transport and delivery, punctuality and reliability are a reflection of our own image with wholesalers and pharmacists.
- Can HK match this quality?
We're very satisfied! It's serious work, the contact is good, and there are very few disputes, if any at all. We have all the information we need in real time: when the driver leaves, when the collection has been made, whether the goods have arrived safely, and so on. Today, although we mainly use HK's "shuttle" service, we do sometimes request exceptional deliveries. In such cases, HK always has solutions to offer. Since HK provides shuttle services and can also find solutions for urgent deliveries, we now have a single point of contact for all our different needs. We know them: trust has been established, and a procedure has been set up naturally. It's practical, because our two companies know each other so well!
